A specialized dropper Egi designed for serious squid and calamari hunters using multi-Egi tandem rigs. The Gekidaki Dropper NO.2.5 combines aggressive darting action with a hypnotic flutter fall that mimics wounded baitfish—the trigger squid can't resist. The Iregui Blue (UV-reactive) finish creates natural baitfish coloration with UV enhancement, making it highly effective for targeting squid and calamari in clear water conditions and under sunlight or moonlight.

Dropper Egi Techniques for Squid:

• Tandem Rig Setup: Attach the dropper Egi 50–80cm above your main Egi. This creates a school effect that triggers competitive feeding behavior in squid
• Shaku-Shaku (Jerk-Pause): Sharp upward jerks of 30–50cm followed by controlled slack-line falls. Squid attack during the descent—watch for line tension or sideways movement
• Stay Fall: After the initial jerk sequence, let both Egis sink on a tight line for 3–5 seconds. This extended pause triggers cautious squid
• Double Strike Advantage: The tandem setup doubles your chances and allows squid to choose their preferred size or color

Rigging Notes: The NO.2.5 dropper size pairs perfectly with NO.2.5 to NO.3.5 main Egis. Pair with PE 0.6–0.8 mainline and 2–3lb fluorocarbon leader. The Iregui Blue UV-reactive finish is especially effective in clear water and when squid are feeding selectively.
