Dropper Egi Techniques for Squid:

• Tandem Rig Setup: Attach the dropper Egi 50–80cm above your main Egi. This creates a school effect that triggers competitive feeding behavior in squid
• Shaku-Shaku (Jerk-Pause): Sharp upward jerks of 30–50cm followed by controlled slack-line falls. Squid attack during the descent—watch for line tension or sideways movement
• Stay Fall: After the initial jerk sequence, let both Egis sink on a tight line for 3–5 seconds. This extended pause triggers cautious squid
• Double Strike Advantage: The tandem setup doubles your chances and allows squid to choose their preferred size or color

Rigging Notes: The NO.2.5 dropper size pairs perfectly with NO.2.5 to NO.3.5 main Egis. Pair with PE 0.6–0.8 mainline and 2–3lb fluorocarbon leader. The Iregui Yellow UV-reactive finish is especially effective in clear water and under sunlight or moonlight.
