Megapro SJ-P 2.0C
The Megapro SJ-P 2.0C is a micro-size 2.0 egi lure built for finesse squid fishing in shallow, clear, or heavily pressured waters. At just 60mm, it presents a smaller, more natural profile that triggers cautious squid when larger jigs are being refused. Available in 7 carefully selected colors — including UV-reactive and tiger-stripe patterns — the SJ-P 2.0C covers every light condition and water type you’ll encounter.
Key Features
- Size: 2.0 (approx. 60mm) – micro profile ideal for small-to-medium squid in 1–8m depth
- Lure Style: Egi (squid jig) with weighted keel for a stable horizontal glide on the fall
- Sink Rate: Slow – the smaller size sinks gently, perfect for ultra-shallow presentations and finicky squid
- Hook System: Double-row prawn-style pin hooks – corrosion-resistant for saltwater use
- Available Colors: Orange, Green, Purple Tiger, Redhead UV, White Green, White Tiger, Pink – 7 patterns covering all conditions
Color Selection Guide
- Orange: Maximum visibility in murky or stained water – the top choice when water clarity is poor
- Green: Excels in clear water under natural or artificial light – mimics bioluminescent prey; effective near dock lights at night
- Purple Tiger: UV-enhanced tiger stripe – highly effective at night and in deep shade; the UV activation creates a pulsing glow that triggers aggressive takes
- Redhead UV: Classic redhead with UV boost – mimics injured baitfish; deadly during dawn and dusk feeding windows
- White Green: Subtle two-tone pattern for clear, calm conditions – natural and non-threatening; ideal when squid are spooky
- White Tiger: High-contrast tiger stripe in white – stands out in bright daylight and clear water; a proven producer in open water
- Pink: The all-rounder – performs at dawn, dusk, and under overcast skies; high contrast in low light
When to Use a Size 2.0
- When squid are refusing larger jigs – downsize to trigger reaction strikes
- In ultra-shallow water (1–4m) where a larger jig sinks too fast through the strike zone
- During daytime sessions in clear water where a smaller, more natural profile is less intimidating
- When targeting smaller squid species or juvenile squid that won’t commit to a 2.5+
How to Fish It (Expert Cadence)
- Cast to your target zone and count the jig down – the 2.0 sinks slowly, so be patient with your count
- Execute 1–2 gentle upward rod lifts (20–30cm) – softer lifts suit the micro profile better than aggressive snaps
- Lower the rod tip slowly and maintain light line tension on the drop – most takes occur on the sink
- Watch for line twitch, sudden slack, or a subtle weight increase – strike immediately with a firm sideways sweep
- Try a dead-slow retrieve with minimal lifts in very shallow water – let the jig glide and flutter naturally
Pro Tips
- Use PE 0.8–1.5 braid with a 1.5–2m fluorocarbon leader (0.6–0.8mm) – lighter gear maximizes the micro jig’s natural action
- The 2.0C is the perfect change-up lure – always carry a few when fishing alongside standard 2.5 and 3.0 jigs
- Pair Purple Tiger and Redhead UV with an underwater UV torch at night for maximum activation
